Greta Van Fleet - Anthem of the Peaceful Army [Album Review]

Ringer and the J-Man rock out to new music from Greta Van Fleet and their first official studio album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army. They go through the record track by track and give their 6 string rating.

This album came across as an average album to us. A few bright spots include When the Curtain Falls, Love Her Leave Her, Mountain of the Sun but a few like You're the One, The New Day and Anthem leave more to be desired. Part of the reason for the low rating is the expectation that was set from Greta Van Fleet's EP, From the Fires which set the bar so high with so many great songs and these songs just seemed to fall a tad short of the EP.

However, there is some room for optimism. The band is clearly trying to push boundaries and incorporate new sounds and styles into their playing and songwriting. If they continue to explore and take their sound further they may break through the wall and put out something truly special with their upcoming albums.

Anthem of the Peaceful Army by Greta Van Fleet Album Rating (out of 6 strings)

J-Man: 3 out of 6 strings

Ringer: 3 out of 6 strings
