Leon Bridges, Khruangbin - Texas Sun [Album Review]
We're taking a quick dive into the 4-track EP, Texas Sun, a combined effort by soul/funk/folk singer Leon Bridges and funk, psychedelic, multi-genre band Khruangbin. Each song gets the Ben and Jesse treatment with full analysis followed by a 6-string rating at the end of the episode.
In our week in music segment we discuss the Motley Crue biopic, The Dirt, a cover band called Pink Talking Fish, and Pokey LaFarge.
Each song on this EP stands out as a unique piece of art. The lyrics are vivid with clear imagery that create engaging stories. The production is solid but the musical performances steal the show. Khruangbin really turns out with their fun, funk rock jams.
This is a quick, 4-hitter EP with a great side A but the last two songs fall a little short, at least in the opinion of one of the hosts.
Texas Sun by Leon Bridges and Khruangbin Album Rating (Out of 6 Strings)
J-Man: 5/6 Strings
Ringer: 3/6 Strings
